Your new website is great........easy to use.....Well done
Merry Christmas to all present and past Faroites,Years spent in the Yukon are certainly special.
Faro was the best place to grow up and I spent the best years of my life in this town and often think about the old times from 1970 -1985 when the mine closed. Nice to see a website. Any photos of the 25th anniversary of the town, I couldn't make it up and hope to make it back for a visit one day
A wonderful place to grow up,i think about my time in faro all the time.If anyone knows where Tanya Pringle is could you leave the information on this site.I found a picture of her and painted it. I would like to send it to her.
Lived in faro from 72-77,it was a great place to grow up.hello to all you crazy people who made this a great place to live.
Almost moved there in 2009 but got talked out of it. Now living in Australia but will be back in Canada this year and you never know where I might end up
Wow, almost forgot about this site, thanks Dora for the reminder! Living in Osoyoos now but often dream of my years in Faro 73-98 (plus visits till 2004-2005). Miss it still and so happy to see so many feel the same, it is a special little place for sure! :)
1973 - Born in Faro.
I worked in Faro from 77-82. Knew Frasers, Sandy Alison-- knew everybody, great people. Canadian people, the best people in the world :) wrote poems in Raven Newspaper and a column once in a while.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of old Faroites Sandy and June Allison who were involved in the town for the years they resided there (1970-1985). We have many happy memories there. June passed away Oct 17/13 age 75 and Sandy passed away Nov 11/13 @ 11am age 77. RIP mom and dad
Sherry,I was so saddened to hear your news. Your mom and dad were icons in Faro, between your mom running the Town Office and your dad publishing his ravings in the paper. Have I already missed their memorial service ?
Thanks Brenda, they both had good memories also. There will not be a service, we will be taking them to cemetery in Surrey on 28th Nov. to rest in peace. I tried to call you but can't find your number
Sherry, I am in the phone book under Ed's name
Faro will always remain close to my heart. I was a teacher at Van Gorder School and think about my old students often. Now those were the best students in the world! ('75, '76, '77)
Hi Sherry. Visited your Mom and Dad a few months ago. We went out for supper and had a great time.
What happened to the Frozen Mukluk?
We are having some technical difficulties, Doug. We will post the Frozen Mukluk from November 2013 onward as soon as we resolve those technical difficulties. Thank you for your patience. Have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy 2014. Faro Admin
Happy New Year from Lucerne! My wife and I are planning on emigrateing to Canada. So, maybe, in a few Years time, we'll be part of your community:) Take care and may god bless you.
I have many fond memories of Faro from the 80's. What wonderful opportunity to have lived, played and raised young children. Would never have left if not for the slump in mining and the closure of the "Totem Lounge and Cabaret"
